Thirty-one projects recognized at the 2022 ABC Excellence in Construction Awards

HOUSTON — On October 27, Associated Builders and Contractors of Greater Houston (ABC) hosted its annual Excellence in Construction Awards (EIC), which showcased thirty-one projects built by ABC Greater Houston members and strictly based on a set of criteria were judged. Established in 2000, this event honors outstanding projects in commercial and industrial construction.

Categories included general contractor and specialist contractor projects, and selected projects were distinguished for safety, quality, ingenuity and workmanship. With twenty-four categories and two important awards, the Merit Award and the ICE Award, the selected entries count among the best shopfitting merits.

ABC members are known for their commitment to safety and excellence in construction and the awards program has demonstrated that commitment. Projects have been evaluated by local owners, architects and engineers for safety, design execution, craftsmanship, attention to detail, installation and other considerations.

ABC Greater Houston also presented Starcon with the coveted Best of Houston award for the 1592 turnaround project. The Best of Houston Award recognizes the highest-scoring project that best represents the industry and the city. This title holds the highest honor after being carefully judged and Starcon will hold the award until the next winner is announced at the EIC Awards 2023.
