Dimapur, July 23 (MExN): The construction company RAMKY-ECI (JV) donated two ambulances to the Dimapur traffic police as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative on July 23rd.
According to an update from the DIPR, the ambulances were handed over during a function in the office of the Commissioner of Police (CP) in Dimapur where the CP Rothihu Tetseo thanked the company on behalf of the unit, DGP and the state government. Tetseo said the ambulances were an immediate and primary necessity because of the occurrence of accidents, especially on the highways.
The two ambulances, which cost Rs 20 lakh, will be available to the traffic police and will not be abused specifically for the needs of the accident victims, both on the national road and in the cities, assured Rothihu. He also assured the company that the police are providing full safety regarding law and order and criminal activity.
ACP Traffic Zone 2 Dimapur Hentai Phom, who led the function, noted that the availability of ambulances would go a long way in saving lives by ensuring timely intervention and transportation of traffic accident victims who need emergency medical care. He also noted that this would improve their ability to provide Dimapur Police personnel with emergency medical care during the COVID-19 pandemic and when needed.
Pastor of the Dimapur Police Baptist Church gave a dedicatory prayer for the ambulances and all who would man the vehicles. The keys to the ambulances were officially handed over to Dimapur CP and DCP Traffic Dimapur by a company representative, according to the DIPR report.
