Partners are promoted to top attorneys, project managers are granted contractor license

Blue is a specialist in matrimonial and family law. This is her 15th year as a Florida Super Lawyer. Blue is rated AV outstanding by Martindale-Hubbell.

Larsen, a board-licensed civil litigator and Florida Supreme Court-certified mediator, mediates in all aspects of civil litigation. He is rated an outstanding AV by Martindale-Hubbell.

Peairs is a board-certified civil litigation attorney and Florida Supreme Court-certified mediator specializing in complex litigation. He is rated an outstanding AV by Martindale-Hubbell.

Butler is a licensed appellate attorney and a member of the Florida Bar Board of Governors. Mr. Butler’s litigation practice focuses on abuse of rights, deceptive and unfair trading practices, consumer law and general civil and commercial disputes. He also holds the Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent rating.

Shannon Dust and Andrew Rennie have joined the Board of Trustees of HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital.

Dust is a longtime Sarasota County resident with a strong track record of community service, having previously served on the hospital board. From 1996 to 2010 she was a member of the Sarasota County Commission. Her district included Englewood, North Port and Venice.

After retiring from government service, she focused on her passion for libraries. She is the namesake of the Shannon Staub Public Library in North Port and was founding president of the Library Foundation of Sarasota County. She was also Chair of the Positive Youth Development Council for many years.

Rennie is the student representative on the board. He is a student at Florida State University College of Medicine and will complete his MD in 2023.

He graduated with honors from Honors College at the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s degree in biomedicine and a minor in nutrition. He has received the Chapman Humanism Award for students who demonstrate compassionate patient care and serve as role models in medicine.

Johnel Reid was promoted to Chief Marketing Officer at Centerstone, a nonprofit healthcare system that provides treatment for mental and substance use disorders.

Previously, she was Vice President of Public Affairs and Marketing. In her new role, Reid will lead strategy and oversight for Centerstone’s branding, communications, grant writing, national policy and referral marketing.

She takes over the position from Debbie Cagle, who retired in June.

Reid joined Centerstone in 2018 with several years of strategic planning and marketing experience at other leading healthcare organizations.

She has a bachelor’s degree in sociology and political science from Longwood University in Virginia.

Ali NomerProject manager and designer at United States Awning, based in Sarasota, recently received a Certified Specialty Contractor License from the State of Florida.

The Florida Certified Specialty Contractor License is required for contractors working in certain specialized industries, including awnings, screens, and other freestanding shading structures.

To earn the license, a contractor must pass two state certification exams. There are also additional requirements related to construction education and work experience at tertiary level.

Nomer joined United States Awning in 2016. His license replaces that of an employee who recently left the company.

Morgan R Bentley, Brian D Goodrich, Amanda R Kison and Jennifer L Grossoof the Sarasota-based law firm Bentley Goodrich Kison, have been named to Florida Trend magazine’s prestigious Legal Elite list.

Lawyers on the list are selected by their peers, who are asked to nominate lawyers they value most or would recommend to others. Legal Elite attorneys are among the top 2% of Florida practicing attorneys.

BGK’s managing partner, Morgan R. Bentley, is licensed in business practice by the Florida Bar. He has been named to Florida Trend’s Legal Elite list multiple times, and has been recognized as a Florida Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers magazine and Best Lawyers of America. Bentley focuses its practice on litigation related to business and real estate disputes.

BGK partner Amanda R. Kison is a Florida Commercial Litigation Bar practitioner and focuses her practice in the commercial litigation area, including business and real estate disputes, handling both court litigation and civil litigation. This is the second year that Kison has been recognized by Florida Trend’s legal elite.

Grosso was named to Florida Trend’s Legal Elite for the third time this year after being recognized as a Legal Elite Up and Comer in 2019. Grosso, a Florida Super Lawyer and AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, focuses her practice in the areas of medical negligence defense, probate and trust litigation, and general business litigation.

Bentley Goodrich Kison, PA is expanding its practice in Sarasota and has hired a former assistant district attorney Ashley Gaillardwho will focus her practice on commercial disputes.

Before working in the prosecutor’s office (12th Judicial Circuit, Sarasota, Bradenton), Gaillard worked as a legal analyst, consultant and associate in several international offices for the Mattin Group, based in Brussels. She also served as a legal analyst for The Heartland Initiative in Washington.

After earning a bachelor’s degree cum laude and a master’s degree in international business from the University of Florida, she received her law degree from Georgetown University and a master of law degree from L’Institut d’Etudes Politique in Paris.

She is admitted to the bar in Florida and New York.
