National Trust nominated Chester-based architecture for design projects at Fell Foot Park

A CHESTER based landscape architects organization has been selected to design new projects for the National Trust’s Fell Foot Park in the Lake District.

Land Studio has won four new projects to improve visitor experiences at the park.

Formerly the site of a Victorian country house, Fell Foot is situated on the southern tip of Lake Windermere. Land Studio’s work will include the design of a more open and accessible series of pathways through the park and to the visitor center at the boathouses on the lake shore.

Design work is expected to be completed by spring, with on-site construction to take place later in 2022.

During the pandemic, the Land Studio team worked with a number of sixth grade schools and colleges across the Northwest to help them create safe, vibrant and immersive outdoor spaces.

Simon Richards, Founder and Director of Land Studio, who is also a Panelist and Co-Chair of the

Design Commission for Wales, said: “These are four great project wins for the team,

comprises three of the key sectors in which we operate – heritage and visitor destinations, education, and gardens and homes.

“In everything we do, we take a sensitive design and engineering approach to our work to help connect people with nature.”

Land Studio, which celebrates its sixth anniversary this month, is a leading landscape architecture and environmental design studio based in Chester and North Wales.
