MoDOT scheduled road works in northern Missouri for the week of September 12, 2022

The following is a list of general road maintenance and construction work scheduled by the Missouri Department of Transportation in the northern Missouri region for the week of September 12-18.

All road closures and planned roadworks can be viewed on the Traveler Information Map.

Bad weather may result in schedule changes for some of the planned work. In addition to the work mentioned below, there may also be relocations throughout the region.

Atchison County

I-29 – Nishnabotna River Bridge Replacement Project (mile marker 122 – 124) by September. Traffic is head-to-head in the northbound lanes. (Contractor: Phillips Hardy, Inc.)

I-29 – Patchwork and resurfacing project from Route 111 near exit 107 to exit 99 near Corning, through October. The road may be narrowed to one lane in each direction in two-mile increments. (Contractor: Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc.)

US Route 136 – Missouri River to I-29 resurfacing project by November 2023. (Contractor: Phillips Hardy, Inc.)

Route B – Pothole repair from K Avenue to L Avenue, 14 September

Route OO – Patching potholes from Route W through 300th Street, September 14

Route J – Pothole repair from US Route 59 to Mahogany Avenue, September 15

Buchanan County

US Route 36 – Missouri River bridge rehabilitation project through December. One lane is closed in each direction with a 12-foot width restriction. (Contractor: Comanche Construction, Inc.)

US Route 36 – RAMPS CLOSED as part of a bridge renovation. Westbound on/off ramps on Route 759 (Stockyards Expressway) will be closed through early December. (Contractor: Comanche Construction, Inc.)

Loop 29 (Pear Street) – CLOSED 24 hours a day for a drainage improvement project from 29th street to 30th Street, September 12-13 (Contractor: BRS Construction, LLC)

Route 6 Permitting/Utility Work 90 onwardsth Way to 110th Street, September 12-16

Route Z – permitting/utility works from Cook Road to Bermond Road, 12th – 16th September

Route V – CLOSED for pavement repairs from Sparta Road to Brownell Road, 13th – 14th September, daily 8am – 2pm

Caldwell County

I-35 – Resurfacing project from north of Exit 52 in Cameron, Clinton County to US Route 69 (Exit 68, Daviess County) through October. The road will be narrowed to one lane around the repairs and paving work, including some 24-hour one-lane closures. A width restriction of 12 feet applies. (Contractor: Herzog Contracting Corp.)

Route 13 – Resurfacing project from Route HH in Kingston to Ray County line by late September. (Contractor: Herzog Contracting Corp.)

US Route 36 – Patching potholes from Route P to Route W, Sept 12-13

Carroll County

US Route 24 – US Route 65 resurfacing project in Carrollton, east of Route 41, near DeWitt, through mid-October. (Contractor: Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc.)

US Route 24/65 – Bridge rehabilitation project at the bridge over Route 10, the Outer Road of US Route 24 and the Norfolk Southern Railroad, south of Carrollton, through mid-December. At the bridge, the road narrows to one lane. Temporary road signs are in place to guide motorists through the work zone. (Contractor: Capital Paving and Construction, LLC)

Route 10 – RAMP CLOSED for a bridge rehabilitation project. The slip road from Route 10 to US Route 24/65 northbound, south of Carrollton, is closed through mid-December. (Contractor: Capital Paving and Construction, LLC)

US Route 24 bridge rehabilitation project at Moss Creek Bridge, south of Carrollton, through December. The bridge is narrowed to one lane, with temporary traffic lights guiding motorists through the site. There is an 18 foot width restriction. (Contractor: Capital Paving and Construction, LLC)

Route UU – CLOSED for a project to replace the bridge deck from County Road 230 to County Road 291 by December. (Contractor: Capital Paving & Construction, LLC)

Route C – CLOSED Patching potholes from Route D through Route F, September 12-16, daily 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m

Route YY – Route J to Route M resurfacing project, September 12-23 (Contractor: Emery Sapp & Sons Inc.)

Route C – Route D to Route Z resurfacing project, September 17-28 (Contractor: Emery Sapp & Sons Inc.)

County Chariton

US Route 24 – Bridge deck replacement project at Palmer Creek Bridge, west of Route MM near Brunswick, through November. There is an 11 foot width restriction. (Contractor: Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc.)

Line 129 – CLOSED for a bridge deck replacement project over the Chariton River near Salisbury by the end of November. (Contractor: Emery Sapp & Sons Inc.)

Route TT – CLOSED for a bridge deck replacement project at the Turkey Creek Bridge, 1 mile east of Route 139, through the end of November. (Contractor: Emery Sapp & Sons Inc.)

Route 5 – CLOSED for road repairs from line KK to line T, September 12 – 14, daily 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m

US Route 24 – CLOSED Overnight at Palmer Creek Bridge for guardrail repairs, September 13 at 11pm to September 14 at 4am

Clinton County

I-35 – Resurfacing project from north of Exit 52 in Cameron to US Route 69 (Exit 68, Daviess County) through October. The road will be narrowed to one lane around the repairs and paving work, including some 24-hour one-lane closures. A width restriction of 12 feet applies. (Contractor: Herzog Contracting Corp.)

US Route 69 – CLOSED for an intersection improvement project from Route 116 to 251St road to September.

Route 116 – US Route 69 Intersection Improvement Project through September.

  • No access to US Route 69 south of the intersection until the end of the project.
  • No access to US Route 69 north of the intersection and no access to Route 116 from US Route 69 in either direction until September.

Distance H – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from Route A to Silvus Road, September 14-15, 6am-4pm daily

Distance H – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from Route A to NW Crowley Corner Road, September 15, 6am to 4pm

Davis County

I-35 – Resurfacing project from US Route 69 (Exit 68) north of Exit 52 in Cameron, Clinton County through October. The road will be narrowed to one lane around the repairs and paving work, including some 24-hour one-lane closures. A width restriction of 12 feet applies. (Contractor: Herzog Contracting Corp.)

Route K – Patching potholes from Route 6 through Route 146, September 12-16

Route 13 – Shoulder work from Route B to Beacon Avenue, September 14th

DeKalb County

I-35 – Resurfacing project from US Route 69 (Exit 68, Daviess County) to north of Exit 52 in Cameron, Clinton County through October. The road will be narrowed to one lane around the repairs and paving work, including some 24-hour one-lane closures. A width restriction of 12 feet applies. (Contractor: Herzog Contracting Corp.)

County Gentry

Route B – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project from 257th street to 245th Road at Grantham Creek Bridge through September.

Route 85 – culvert replacement from Tyler Street to Stapleton Avenue, September 14

County Grundy

Route F – Patching potholes from Route W to the Daviess County line, September 12-16

Harrison County

Route A – CLOSED for a bridge rehabilitation project over I-35 by September.

I-35 – Bridge rehabilitation project at Pole Cat Creek Bridge at mile marker 90 south of Bethany through November. A width restriction of 12 feet applies.

County Holt

US Route 159 – Road improvement and flood rehabilitation project from the Missouri River to Little Tarkio Creek near Fortescue and from Route 111 north of Forest City to the Little Tarkio River, through December. (Contractor: Phillips Hardy, Inc.)

Route C – Culvert Replacement from Memphis Road to Omaha Road, September 12-13

Distance H – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from Trinity Road to Traders Drive, 13 September, 7am to 3.30pm

Linn County

Line DD – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from Route 139 to Route Y, September 13-15, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily

US Route 36 – Concrete replacement from Route F to Route 5 South, September 14-15. The road will be narrowed to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction 24 hours a day.

County of Livingston

US Route 36 resurface project eastbound from Route C to Parson’s Creek and westbound from Parson’s Creek to Coon Creek through October. A lane may be closed 24 hours a day in both directions. (Contractor: Herzog Contracting Corp.)

Route C – Closed until further notice at the Shoal Creek Bridge for deterioration. A bridge replacement project is currently scheduled to be part of MoDOT’s November 2022 lease.

Route A – Fixing Potholes, September 12-16

Route JJ – US Route 65 to Route H resurfacing project in Avalon, September 13-19 (Contractor: Emery Saoo & Sons, Inc.)

Nodaway County

Line KK – CLOSED for patching potholes from Oak Street in Elmo through 120th Street, Sept. 12, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m

Route D – CLOSED to patch potholes from Route KK to Dragonfly Road, September 13, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m

US Route 71 – Culvert Repair from County Road 390 to Route M, September 14-16. The road will be narrowed to one lane with a 14-foot width restriction.

Putnam County

Route YY – CLOSED for a bridge rehabilitation project across Sandy Creek by September. (Contractor: Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc.)
