A PLANNING application was submitted this week for 730 homes as part of a £ 205 million urban village on the Glasgow riverside.
The build-to-rent specialist Moda Living is working together with the real estate developer Osborne + Co and MRP, a division of the construction company McAleer & Rushe, on proposals for the revitalization of an area that has been vacant since 2007.
The development spans four acres on Lancefield Quay and has been identified as a key project connecting the city center to the West End, including the Scottish Event Campus and Finnieston.

An Aberdeenshire-based oil pipeline specialist has been sold to an international corporation that will pay the company’s founder a payout in the millions.
STATS UK was acquired by SRJ Technologies, listed on the Australian Stock Exchange, in a cash and equity deal for approximately £ 73 million.

Historic Fife merchant pounces on Stewart Milne’s £ 100 million lumber deal

HISTORIC Fife-based timber merchant Donaldson Group has completed its largest acquisition to date with the acquisition of the timber frame manufacturing business of Aberdeen’s Stewart Milne Group.
The deal for Stewart Milne Timber Systems (SMTS) marks the first step into the timber frame market for family company Donaldson, which can trace its roots back to 1860.

UK inflation will rise for a decade as gasoline prices rise

The UK’s annual inflation rate rose over five percent in November to its highest level in more than a decade, driven by a record rise in gasoline prices to an all-time high, official data shows.
The rise in annual consumer price index inflation from 4.2% in October to 5.1% last month, according to figures released by the Bureau of Statistics, has been much stronger than expected.

Glasgow company opens four restaurants in Edinburgh
The chain hails the taste of the Pacific.
The HAWAIIAN restaurant operator Island Poké has announced that it will be opening four new locations in the Scottish capital over the next two years.
Island Poké is part of the Glasgow-based Hero Brands portfolio and will launch its first offering of “Fresh Pacific Flavors” in the first quarter of next year.
