A Florida-based company, one of the largest mattress manufacturers in the country, leases a new regional plant and distribution center in North Texas.
Sherwood Bedding, which operates in six states, has rented a new industrial building in the Austin Ranch mixed-use development just west of the Dallas North Tollway.
The nearly 235,000 square foot manufacturing center and warehouse will be located near Plano Parkway and Tittle Drive and construction will begin early next year.
It’s a project by developer Billingsley Co.
“Sherwood Bedding has been a long-time tenant of ours at another location and its rapid growth required a move to a larger building.” George Billingsley, partner at Billingsley Co., said in a statement. “We are honored to be able to maintain the relationship and work with them on this evolutionary build.
“Given the strong market demand, we look forward to starting other new industrial developments in Lewisville and Denton in the near future.”
Sherwood Bedding signed a 10-year lease for the new Lewisville building, which will open in early 2023.
ESRP’s Damian Rivera negotiated the new lease with Billingsley.
Construction company Gordan Highlander will be the general contractor on the project.
Sherwood Bedding opened its first US manufacturing facility in the USA in the mid-1970s. The company is a major manufacturer of private label mattresses.
The company’s products are sold by retailers and direct to consumers.
