Telangana City Council and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao opened the six-lane flyover in Balanagar on Tuesday. KTR surprised everyone and had Shivamma, who was building the flyover, cut the ribbon. The flyover is named after the Dalit leader and parliamentarian Babu Jagjivan Ram.
KTR went to his Twitter and tweeted: “I’m delighted to be able to open the eagerly awaited overpass of Balanagar tomorrow. This 1.1km flyover, built under the #SRDP (Strategic Road Development Plan), will reduce traffic congestion at one of the world’s most congested intersections, Hyderabad. “Here is the tweet from KTR.

The travel time between Kukatpally Y Junction in the direction of Medchal Highway will be shortened and the traffic jams at Balanagar Junction will be eliminated. The project was built under the Strategic Road Development Plan at a cost of Rs. 387 million euros. State Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Labor Minister Ch Malla Reddy, MLAs M Krishna Rao, Vivekananda Goud, MLCs Surabhi Vani Devi, S Raju, Naveen Rao, Hyderabad Mayor Gadwal Vijayalaxmi, Deputy Mayor Srilatha Reddy and several others attended the event.
