James “Jim” Wilson Kinsey, 88


James “Jim” Wilson Kinsey, aged 88, a longtime resident of Almont, died Sunday, May 22, 2022 at home with his family by his side. He was born on November 8, 1933 to Robert Otis and Edith Ione (Graves) Kinsey in Detroit. Jim worked as a general contractor at Morefield Construction doing residential and commercial construction and retired after 50 years. He retired from the Almont Department of Public Works after 10 years. Jim married the love of his life, Minnie “Sue” Morefield on July 21, 1951 in Dubuque, IA.

Jim is survived by his beloved children, Donna Mong of Largo, FL, Diana (Buckley) Kinsey-Steele of Livonia, MI, Susan (Mike) Herberholz of Panama City Beach, FL, and a son, Douglas (Amy) Kinsey of Franklin. TN. He is also survived by 13 beloved grandchildren; 20 beloved great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; two sisters, Linda France from Warren and Dorothy Drew from Clinton Twp.; and his brother David Deans of Lowell, MI.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie “Sue” Kinsey.

The funeral will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. (please arrive by 11:45 a.m.) at Ferguson Cemetery, 4471 Kidder Rd., Almont, MI 48003.
