The Indian equity benchmark indices closed at record closing highs on Thursday afternoon, boosted by strong gains in IT and real estate stocks. The Sensex rose 254.80 points, or 0.48 percent, to 53,158.85, while the Nifty closed 70.25 points, or 0.44 percent, higher at 15,924.20. Broader markets supported the rally with mid-cap and small-cap indices closing 0.48 percent and 0.95 percent higher, respectively.

Among the sectors, Nifty Realty rose over 4 percent, followed by Nifty IT, which rose over 1 percent. The Nifty Auto, Nifty PSU Bank and Nifty Pharma indices ended lower. At Nifty50, HCL Technologies, L&T, Wipro, Tech Mahindra and Hindalco Industries were the top winners, with ONGC, Eicher Motors, Bharti Airtel, Grasim Industries and Coal India leading the losses.

Here are the top stocks that have moved today:

L&T technology services: Shares in L&T Technology Services, the engineering services arm of Larsen and Toubro Group, rose 19 percent to Rs 3,465.65 after the company reported strong profits for the June quarter and beat street estimates. The company posted net income of Rs.216 billion for Q1FY22, growing 11.1 percent compared to Rs.194.5 billion for the March quarter.

KNR constructions: The shares of KNR Constructions (KNRCL) rose 7.2 percent to Rs 260.40 on the BSE after the rating agency CRISIL raised its outlook from “stable” to “positive” and confirmed the rating at “CRISIL AA-“. According to CRISIL, the revision of the outlook takes into account the expected improvement in business scope of KNRCL’s business risk profile with medium-term revenue growth of over 15 percent per year while maintaining the healthy financial risk profile.

Sequential Science: Sequent Scientific shares rose 7.5 percent to Rs 288 amid high volumes after the company announced EUGMP approval for its tablet dosage production line in Turkey. Sequent Scientific said in a press release on Wednesday that the approval complements the successful renewal of the EUGMP license for eight more production lines for various dosage forms including beta-lactam, non-beta-lactam, terminal sterilization, mastitis, beta-lactam powder was, aerosol, pesticides and solids in Turkey.

Global Solutions from Hinduja: Hinduja Global Solutions’ shares were locked in the upper 5 percent circle of rupees 2,968.25 on BSE after it was announced that Baring Private Equity Asia would acquire a controlling stake in its healthcare outsourcing division.

Dilip Buildcon: Dilip Buildcon’s shares plummeted 4 percent after the highway authority temporarily banned the construction company from participating in offers pending an investigation into an accident on its project site.
