After a long wait, Golden Triangle Construction (GTC), a full-service commercial general contractor based in Colorado, announced today that its first charity golf tournaments have been a success. The event, held Nov. 4 at Topgolf Thornton, raised funds for Building Warriors, a Colorado-based nonprofit that provides mental health support to first responders and their families.

“Because GTC builds so many fire stations, we’ve gotten to know some of the first responders in Colorado, and I can’t stress enough how much respect we have for them,” said Lance Swanson, vice president of GTC. “We were delighted to be able to work with a charity that supports this wonderful, selfless group, many of whom we know by their first names.”

Building Warriors started in 2016 and officially became a non-profit organization in 2018. The GTC event was their first official fundraiser. The tournament, originally planned for April 2020, has been postponed several times due to the pandemic.

Some of our major sponsors were Montgomery Electric (Platinum sponsor), Braconier (Gold sponsor), Hixxa Communications, TileKyle & Low Voltage Plumbing (Silver sponsors), Holmes Murphy (Food sponsor), Vanguard Solar (Beverage sponsor), All-Phase Concrete (Awards sponsor) .

“Topgolf has been very understanding in helping us find new data all the time,” said Brandon Dooling, GTC Marketing Director. “Not to mention how patient Building Warriors and our event sponsors have all been.”

Despite the shuffling, in the end over 150 people made up of 30 teams showed up to play, including architectural firms, owner representatives, subcontractors, a team from Aims Community College and several teams from the local fire department. GTC intends to turn this tournament into an annual event.
