What is the “Festival of Terrors”?

If you’ve ever been to Rockford’sFestival of LightsDuring the Christmas season at Sinnissippi Park, the Festival of Frights is basically its scarier younger sister.

Not only can you drive through cool Halloween displays of lights, pumpkins, straw figures and more set up by local businesses and organizations throughout Sinnissippi Park, but you can help ensure every child enjoys a happy Halloween for years to come!

The Festival of Terror mission

The Festival of Frights started 2019 with two main goals; to provide a family-friendly Halloween experience for the entire Rockford area and to raise money to purchase Halloween costumes for children in need.

Each year since its inception, the Festival of Frights has added more fascinating displays, more lights, more attractions, and the donations they receive at the end of the trail have helped provide hundreds of costumes for children in the Rockford area.. .

When is Rockford’s Festival of Frights?

The 2022 Festival of Fright season begins Friday, October 21st and runs nightly from dusk until 9pm through Halloween (October 31st).

If you’ve never driven through the Festival of Frights before, prepare to wait in line to get inside, especially on the weekends. This drive-thru Halloween display has quickly become a popular Halloween tradition in the Rockford area and I promise it will be worth the wait!

More Festival of Frights fun

In addition to the drive-thru performance, the Festival of Frights will again feature a Haunted Hills Hustle for the whole family to take part in before the lights officially come on on October 29th, 2022…
