EW Howell announces leadership change


Daniel Williams has been appointed President of EW Howell Construction Group in a recently announced change in leadership of the company.

Williams, who took over the post on April 1, will retain his role as the company’s chief financial officer while handling day-to-day operations, according to a company statement.

Howard Rowland, who was President and Chief Operating Officer of EW Howell, will become the new Chief Executive Officer. Rowland plans to become chairman of the company in late 2023.

Rowland joined Plainview-based EW Howell in 1983 as a project manager and rose to become president of the company in 1997. Williams has been with EW Howell for 15 years, joining the company as Controller in 2007 and becoming its CFO in 2016.

“After thorough review and evaluation, I have made the decision to accept a new role as chief executive officer at EW Howell,” Rowland said in the statement. “I have the utmost confidence in Dan as a leader with his even-tempered demeanor and deep understanding of the company and its vision for the future. I will work closely with Dan along with other leaders to provide support, guidance and guidance during this transition.”

In addition, John Hagen will assume the role of interim COO. Hagen, currently Executive Vice President of EW Howell with more than 40 years of leadership experience in the construction industry, will oversee all of the company’s construction activities.
