Contractor Kokosing has agreed to acquire Ohio-based solar installer Third Sun Solar. The company will trade as Third Sun Kokosing Solar.
This transaction will allow Kokosing to penetrate the residential, commercial and utility markets of the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic. The solar division will leverage Kokosing’s existing infrastructure in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland and Washington, DC to better serve customers across a larger geographic footprint.
Brady Phillips, a 22-year-old Kokosing team member who will lead the new division, said he looks forward to working with Third Sun Solar’s experienced team: “This acquisition moves us forward on our journey to provide high-quality solar assets even larger market in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic with enhanced experiences for our team and for our customers alike.”

Greenfield will remain with the company and assume the position of Director of Solar Strategy. No changes to Third Sun Solar’s historic team, offices or services are planned other than centralizing accounting and general administrative services at Kokosing’s corporate headquarters.
