Resquillo, a construction worker, told police he had had a work-related grudge against Pratilla, a construction worker colleague, for some time, and that the former had allegedly been plotting how to kill the latter since last week.

Police Sergeant Pada said that night the service vehicle with Pratilla and another worker in it was waiting for Resquillo, who got out in front of their house to transfer his salary to his wife.

He said that Resquillo pulled a kitchen knife at the time and stabbed Pratilla several times in the chest, thighs, arms and head.

Rsequillo then got out of the vehicle and surrendered to the captain of Tulay Barangay.

His colleagues in the service vehicle took the victim to Minglanilla District Hospital, but the attending doctor pronounced him dead on arrival.

Resquillo was transferred to Minglanilla Police Station, where he was held pending charges.
