The 13,000m2 project doubles the existing yard for Craemer UK’s second manufacturing facility in Telford, which opened in 2019 to expand the production and storage capacity for garbage cans, pallets, storage and shipping containers.
Work on the £ 1.9 million project is expected to be completed by the end of January 2022. It includes fencing and providing drainage where the water draining from the shipyard is directed through a gasoline and oil sump into a trough pond formed by Morris Property as a more environmentally friendly approach.
Steve Poppitt, Managing Director of Craemer UK, said, “The expansion of our existing warehouse and distribution facility at our second manufacturing facility has become necessary due to the continued growth of our Shropshire-based plastics business.
“Craemer manufactures over two million high quality commercial and household garbage cans each year and supplies over 70 percent of UK municipalities and municipal waste companies.
“The continued expansion underscores both the continued success of our company and the Craemer Group’s commitment to investing in both the local and UK economies.
“We are excited to be working with Shropshire based Morris Group on this next phase of our UK expansion program.”
Morris Property Site Supervisor Steve Flavell said, “Craemer turned to us because we have a reputation for quality work on the site. We recently completed Paragon Point, an industrial / distribution warehouse, on a neighboring property. It is the eighth development that we have built on site. “
