Monday, September 20 through Thursday, September 23, 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., it may be on US 1 in Bucks County due to construction between Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that there are regular single-lane closures to the north and south and 15-minute traffic delays. During the regular 15-minute traffic disruptions on US1, Bristol Road will also be closed between Neshaminy Boulevard and the Old Lincoln Highway. The interruptions and closings are required as the crews are conducting controlled blasting to remove rock from the embankments along US 1 where the widening will take place. Regular lane restrictions may also apply from Sunday, September 19 through Friday, September 24, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the following morning for construction on US 1 going north and south between the Old Lincoln Highway and the interchange and continue east and / or west on Street Road (Route 132) between Old Lincoln Highway and Kingston Way in Bensalem Township. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when driving through the work areas, as this can lead to traffic jams and delays. All planned activities are weather dependent. The crews are reconstructing and widening almost five kilometers of carriageway, improving the junctions and building several new bridges – including new structures over Neshaminy Creek and railway lines near the Penndel exit – under two contracts (RC1, RC2) for reconstruction, for the Enhance expansion and US1 in Bucks County. JD Eckman, Inc. of Atglen, PA is the general contractor for the $ 110.8 million Section RC2 project, due to be completed in mid-2026. Alan Myers Construction of Worcester, PA is the general contractor for the $ 95 million Section RC1 project, which is expected to be completed in mid-2022. Sections RC1 and RC2 are two of the three construction contracts for the reconstruction and expansion of US 1; replace aging bridges; and install security enhancements along a four-mile stretch of the freeway from north of Philadelphia to north of Route 413 (Pine Street) in Middletown Township and Langhorne Borough.
