Architect Appointed for Parramatta Build-to-Rent Tower

Rothelowman was selected from a design competition as the architect to deliver a built-to-rent project in Parramatta for the Novus Group.

Occupying a corner lot at the intersection of Hassell and Harris streets, Novus on Harris will offer prospective residents views over the CBD and Parramatta Park, maximizing use of local amenities and transportation links.

The site will feature a mixed-use area of retail and commercial space with more than 200 apartments ranging from studio and one-bedroom units to three-bedroom apartments.

Ben Pomroy, director of Rothelowman, said the architecture in the concept design “responds to the environmental factors of the area, with each facade being tailored with materials, colors and tones for its specific climatic context”.

Pomroy added that common spaces and strong feature offerings are essential to the build-to-rent design, with flexible common spaces seamlessly integrating into private residences.

The ground floor is designed as a platform that “lightly touches” the ground, according to the architects. A main lobby and community facilities are located on level two between the treetops, connecting residents with the local environment.

Other considerations include a rooftop deck consisting of intimate terraces, large social sun decks, BBQ areas, picnic lawns, and a private living and dining area.

A planning application will be submitted before the end of 2022, and construction is scheduled to begin in mid-2023.
