Work on the white terracotta facade of 58 Saint Marks Place, a 12-story residential building in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn, is taking shape. Developed by Avdoo & Partners and designed by INC Architecture & Design with Isaac & Stern as record-breaking architects, the long rectangular structure will total 100 units and will be separated from 4th Avenue to the east, St. Mark’s Place to the north and Willie. delimits McDonald’s way to the south.
At the time of our last update in March, the final exterior paneling had only just begun to be installed. Now almost everything is in place, only the last three levels above the main setback are waiting to be completed.
Black nets and metal scaffolding cover the floors above the recess up to the roof parapet. The narrow grid of windows and the stack of sunken terraces create a richly structured exterior that shows the simplicity of the terracotta panels and the play of light and shadow from the drawn-in rectangular window frames. Sidewalk scaffolding line the first floor, along with white and orange construction barriers and fences along 4th Avenue. The mostly empty northern party wall has a few windows, but mostly consists of concrete blocks. This will likely be covered to match the light surface of the rest of the building.
Sales for 58 Saint Marks Place started earlier this year. The houses are offered in 45 unique floor plans ranging from studios to four-room apartments. Studios will cost from $ 550,000; one bedroom from $ 835,000; One-Bedroom Home Office from $ 1,050,000; two bedrooms from $ 1,270,000; Three-Bedroom from $ 1,925,000; and four bedrooms from $ 3.7 million. Most homes will have their own private outdoor space, while each unit is fitted with 7-inch white oak floors, casement windows with low-E coated double glazing, motorized blinds, front loading washer and dryer, and energy efficient HVAC systems with zone control for everyone Space and HEPA filters. The kitchens will be equipped with custom-made cabinets made of white oak and fluted glass, cut Luce de Luna quartzite worktops, appliances from the Thermador Masterpiece series with Bosch equipment packages in studios and an under-table wine cooler in selected units.
